Members may participate in any or all of our activities. All activities are coordinated by homeschool mothers and fathers giving freely of their time, and we rely on volunteers to keep things running smoothly. All events are coordinated by volunteers, our members. All members have the opportunity to choose which events in which they would like to volunteer. Below are possible events that have occurred in the past. This is YOUR group. If you would like to add or change activities, please contact the ICARE Leadership.
Service Projects – ICARE is a ministry-led group. We hope to have multiple service projects throughout the year for all ages. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. --Matthew 5:14-16
Parent Support Meetings – We meet to support each other or possibly arrange for speakers to come to our meetings to discuss a variety of topics such as How to homeschool in Texas, curriculum, Community College dual credit classes, how to teach Math, how to do a science project for the science fair, etc.
GRACE Co-Op – This Co-op (Growing Richly in Academics through Christian Education) is made up of families who are current members of ICARE and desire to come together to educate their children with certain classes. Signups occur in the Spring for the following school year.
Texas Regional Science Fair – ICARE sponsors the science fair. It is a fantastic event for all ages!
Care Support – We provide prayer and support for our members in need.
Talent Show/Recognition Night – If you have a talented child or want to recognize an achievement or have a graduating senior, you don’t want to miss this event.
Parties – We like to have fun! We have had Pool parties, Not back to school parties, Fall Festivals, Christmas Parties, Valentine’s Day Parties, Field Days and Birthdays at the Park!
Mom’s Night Out – Fellowship over dinner, coffee, etc.
